Nature gives us life and we respect it.
Here are some examples of how, in our B & B, we work together to protect nature:
Energy
We designed and built our house in order to maximize exposure to sunlight; windows and roof are equipped with thermal insulation; we use energy saving light bulbs; we applied a timer on the stairway lighting and appliances we use class “AA” always at full load; we invite our guests to the ration the use of towels to eliminate unnecessary washing of linen.a.
Heating
To the extent possible, we try to keep the gradation of the heating not too high, often airing the premises; we recently installed two solar panels for water heating. In our living room we integrate the gas heating, with the wood burning fireplace.
Waste
We operate a separate collection of recyclable materials (paper, glass, cans, plastic, batteries) informing our guests of this too. We avoid as much as possible the use of disposable products, preferring also recycled paper products.
Water
We try to reduce water consumption by installing faucets that drains the water with adjustable water flow; showers instead of baths.
Breakfast
We offer recipes made with local produce and prepare to the possible extent jams and sweets at home; choosing mostly certified organic products.
Transportation
We give information on buses, trains and boats timetables. We also promote a “gentle mobility” encouraging the use of footpaths and cycle paths, providing our guests 2 bikes. We provide printed informative material on walks and hikes in the area.
Noise
Our house is quite soundproof; we invite our guests to reduce noise, especially during the night.
Natural and cultural assets
Recommend our guests local routes with destinations that can be reached on foot, by bike; we make available informative materials about the history and nature of our area
Communication
Involve our guests in respecting the environment.
