The Valsassina valley, in the heart of the Alps of Lombardy, describes a great arc that tear away from the lake and return to Lecco Bellano after passing the Grigne.
It 's a very wide valley, crossed by Pioverna and Varrone , passing briefly from lake landscape at the peaks reach 2,500 meters.
Here are the major peaks of the “Orobiche Prealpi” , all within, not without some difficulties, even from the excursionist. - The “Legnone” north, is the highest peak from which, being a relatively isolated mountain, you can enjoy a splendid panorama 360° - “Resegone” immortalized by the "Promessi Sposi” of Alessandro Manzoni, whose name in Lombard dialect means “big saw” for the succession of several peaks well aligned. - “ Two Grigne “pyramids placed a beautiful side to the other each year on which there is a “Trofeo Scaccabarozzi” a famous Sky Race 47 km and 3200 meters in altitude. These mountains are similar in constitution to the most famous Dolomites.

THE VALSASSINA'S DESSERT
The Valsassina’s typical dessert, are the caviadini (special biscuits of Barzio and now produced by all bakers in the valley, and 'just do it at home ... Other sweets are the Sassetti (biscuits with almonds, with excellent wine). Also noteworthy is the Dolce Grigna, made of dried figs, nuts, candied fruit and raisins. And yet another typical dessert is a cake of bread made using stale bread by adding various ingredients including basic amaretti, raisins, cinnamon eggs one cake typical of the peasant culture that used the products you have at home, then there are variants, including apples, or chocolate or cocoa, this cake was used mainly in village celebrations of saints' days in different countries. Another dessert is "Miascia" cake made with cow's milk that has just given birth, so the more fat, sugar and corn flour, a typical peasant dish that served to give strength to the fields or in winter.

Il cavaliere cadde fulminato: Ma Iddio punì l’orribile peccato e la guerriera diventò la Grigna una montagna ripida e ferrigna. Anche la sentinella che stava sopra il ponte fu trasformata in monte e la Grignetta fu.

PARLASCO – Frescoes Village
Since 2007 Parlasco is part of the "Villages Frescoes of Italy”. Artists selected by a special commission, frescoed on fourteen external walls of the old village of as many buildings, characters and scenes described in the book "Lasco the bandit of Valsassina”.
PRIMALUNA: AN AWARD FOR ANTICA OSTERIA
Among the business from Lecco to which the Region has received the recognition of "historical store" include "L’Antica Osteria" in the village of Primaluna-Vimogno.
The well-known local Via Carso Vimogno was therefore credited to the list of shops recognized by the Lombardy Region and was recently awarded to Milan in the presence of regional authorities. L'Osteria di Tantardini Italy is a true piece of history of the country and in general Valsassina.
